Eight CAC Standouts Earn United Soccer Coaches All-South Atlantic Region Recognition

2019 United Soccer Coaches Men's All-South Atlantic Region Teams

Eight Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) men's soccer players have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Atlantic Region Team, announced by organized on Monday (Dec. 2). Mary Washington earned a conference-leading four spots in the all-region squad, while Christopher Newport and St. Mary's had two players honored apiece. 

Mary Washington, which won the conference tournament title, was led by seniors Kenny Kurtz and Gabriel Soriano on the all-region first team. Senior Ben Ahrens collected second team accolades for the Eagles, while Jeremy Hokenson collected third team recognition. 

Christopher Newport, which captured the league's regular season title. was represented by senior CAC Defensive Player of the Year Derek Cook who was named to the first team and sophomore Will Collins on the all-region second team. 

The St. Mary's duo of senior Khalid Balogun and junior Roshawn Panton both represented the Seahawks on the all-region team. Balogun, the CAC Offensive Player of the Year, was recognized as a first team honoree, while Panton received second team honors.
