Mary Washington Men's Swimming Unanimously Selected to Capture 18th Straight CAC Title
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Mary Washington was selected as the unanimous preseason favorite to win the win the Capital Athletic Conference men's swimming title in a preseason vote among the conference head coaches. The Eagles will aim for their 18th straight conference championship this winter.
UMW was the unanimous selection atop the poll with five first-place votes and 25 points, followed by York in second with one first-place nod and 21 points. Salisbury ranked third in the poll with 15 points, with Marymount two points behind in fourth with 13 points. St. Mary's (9 points) and Frostburg State (7 points) rounded out the poll in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Two CAC teams have already opened their 2017-18 campaigns, with the other four slated to begin the season in the next few weeks. The season will culminate with the 2018 CAC Championship meet, set for Feb. 22-25 at St. Mary's.
