The 17th-ranked ranked Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 5-3 decision at 13th-ranked Kenyon on Friday afternoon in Gambier, Ohio. The Eagles' season comes to a close with a 20-6 record.

UMW jumped out to a fast start, as junior Matt Miles and freshman Moses Hutchison rolled to an 8-1 victory at two doubles over Austin Diehl and Jacob Zalenski. The Eagles grabbed a second point, as Ryland Byrd and Michael Fleming were victorious at one, 8-5, over Weston Noall and Alex Rieger. Kenyon salvaged an important point at three doubles, as Michael Liu and Nicholas Paolucci topped Patrick Hughes and Derek Hagino, 9-7, at three.

Kenyon jumped ahead with straight set victories at one and two. Hughes fell to Diehl, 6-2, 6-0, at two, and Miles dropped a 6-3, 6-3 match at one to Zalenski. Kenyon added a fourth point as Michael Liu defeated Michael Fleming, 7-6, 6-3, at four. Joseph Brown scored a point for the Eagles, as he won, 7-6, 6-2, at three over Paolucci.

With two matches left, Kenyon scored a three-set 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 victory at six, as Noall defeated Cole Tecce for the clincher. Byrd's matrch at five was halted at the time of decision, with him holding a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 lead.

The Eagles end the season with a 20-6 record - their third 20-win season in the past five - after claiming their 17th CAC Championship in the past 18 years.
