Wesley's Larry Beavers Named CAC Men's Track & Field Athlete Of The Week

Wesley junior LARRY BEAVERS (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Track & Field Athlete of the Week award for April 14, 2008 after posting a gold-medal effort in the 100-meter dash (10.88) and anchoring the victorious 4x100-meter relay team (43.38) at the Rowan Open. Beavers time in the 100 was the fastest by a Wesley runner in its first season as a Division III track & field program.
Salisbury Senior Samuel Singleton Named CAC Men's Track & Field Athlete Of The Week

Salisbury senior SAMUEL SINGLETON (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Track & Field Athlete of the Week award for April 7, 2008 after breaking the school record in the 400-meter dash (48.74) and helped the 4x100 relay team break the school record (41.91) at the Duke Invitational. Singleton shared the SU mark in the 400 with Jason Anderson (set in 1994) prior to Saturdays sprint. The 4x100 relay teams mark, which bettered the school record set several weeks ago, is the second fastest time in Division III this season.
Salisbury's Delannie Spriggs Named CAC Men's Track & Field Athlete Of The Week

Salisbury sophomore DELANNIE SPRIGGS (Owings, Md./Northern) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Track & Field Athlete of the Week award for March 31, 2008 after winning the 100-meter dash against primarily NCAA Division I and Division II opponents with a 10.9-second performance. He also a member of the gold-medal 4x100 relay team that covered the distance in 41.59.

Hood sophomore BLAIR AMES (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Track & Field Athlete of the Week award for March 24, 2008 after posting school-record performances by winning the 800 (2:07.74), 1,500 (4:19.56) and as a member of the record-breaking 4x400 relay team (3:37.40).
