Three Salisbury school records fell as the Sea Gulls and York track & field teams competed at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Track & Field meet.

Three Sea Gulls posted school records at the meet, and two came home with wins, as Salisbury athletes took one of their final efforts at posting a time worthy of invitation to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships later this month.

Sophomore Kara Tolson set a new school mark in the 200-meter dash, placing fourth in the race with a time of 25.13 seconds. She was the top Division III finisher in the event.

Senior Jennifer Houghton claimed the hammer throw competition with a top heave of 151' 1" and took second in the shot put, covering 40' 9".

Senior Anna Steinman posted a time of 4:58.60 in the 1,500-meter run while classmate Becca Stinner finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:27.55, to place fourth.

Senior Chris Barnard finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, completing the race in 9:11.30, which shattered his own school record by more than nine seconds while junior Tyler Miluski finished the race in 10:06.55.

Senior Jay Drenner broke his own school mark in the hammer throw, covering a top distance of 178' 1", finishing nearly 15 feet ahead of the next-closest competitor. Drenner also placed second in the discus, with a top throw of 149' 8".

Senior John Fitzgerald ran the 5,000-meter run in a time of 14:48.49, to finish 16th among more than 70 runners in the event. The time was just eight seconds off the school-record pace. Senior David Toller ran the event in 15:24.57.

Sophomore Matthew Hallenbeck finished the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:00.88.

Nine Sea Gulls will make the trip to Ewing, N.J., for the teams' final regular-season meet this Thursday, May 17 – the Lions' Last Chance Meet, hosted by The College of New Jersey.

York rookie Jasmine Smith, the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference champion in the long jump, broke her own school record in the event as she leapt 5.69 meters (18' 8"). That mark ties her for 18^th overall in NCAA Division III this season as that distance could potentially get her into the National Championships.

Fellow Spartan women's track & field standout Laura Rowlands put together a quality performance in the triple jump. Finishing second, Rowlands posted an 11.40-meter (37' 5") distance. The sophomore currently ranks 20^th overall and is another Spartan who could potentially find herself in California next week.

On the men's side, distance runner Tim Hartung ran to a new Capital Athletic Conference record in the 5,000 meters as he registered a tremendous 14:39.84. Having already posted a phenomenal sophomore campaign, Hartung had previously broken the conference mark in the event in early April with a 14:47.72 and was able to lower it yet again by over seven seconds. Hartung currently sits in the top-40 in Division III for the year and is slated to compete again on Thursday in an effort to reach the National Championships.

Freshman Wil Feliciano competed for the Green and White on Monday, running his signature 800 meters. Feliciano registered a 1:55.71 in the event.

The official list of the 2012 NCAA National Championships qualifiers is slated to be released on Sunday, May 20.
