Wesley's Matt Bundy Defends His 110 Hurdles Title In The ECAC Championships
Wesley College's Matt Bundy successfully defended his Eastern College Athletic Conference Title in the 110m hurdles by running a school and Capital Athletic Conference-record 14.26 in the ECAC Finals on Friday afternoon at Springfield College.
His time of 14.26, which was two-hundredths of a second faster than his preliminary mark and school-record, is the second-fastest in NCAA Division III this year and breaks Cory Beebe's three-year-old conference record by one-hundredth of a second.
A native of Media, Pa., Bundy ran down Terrence Gibson of Worcester State (14.37), the 2013 Indoor Track & Field National Champion in the 60m hurdles to earn the victory. St. Lawrence's Jacob Fredericks (14.440) edged Jerome Duncan (14.442) of Lebanon Valley for third place in a photo finish.
Bundy will run at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held May 23-25 in LaCrosse, Wisc., at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The preliminaries of the 110m hurdles is currently scheduled for 6:25 Eastern Time on Friday, May 24 with the finals at 4:25 pm Eastern the following day.
