Salisbury Junior Luke Campbell Named National Athlete of the Week

Salisbury junior Luke Campbell men's track & field team standout was named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III men's National Athlete of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday. 

Campbell also earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors earlier today. 

Campbell is coming off of a strong meet at the Colonial Relays at William & Mary on Friday and Saturday. He took second in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles, with times of 14.07 seconds and 52.17 seconds, respectively. In the 110 hurdles, Campbell now leads the country with his time, and he ranks second in the nation with his 400 time.

He also anchored the team in the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays. The Gulls' 4x100 team finished eighth in the meet with a 42.72-second time, which is now tied for 21st in the country.

Campbell helped the 4x400 team to a fifth-place finish at William and Mary in a time of 3:17.95, while moving up to the No. 6 spot in the country.
