Salisbury's Luke Campbell Honored as Most Outstanding Performer from NCAA Championships

After collecting two more NCAA Division III national championships at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship meet, Salisbury University senior Luke Campbell was honored with his third-straight United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships Most Outstanding Men's Track Performer for the meet, the organization announced.

Campbell defended both of his national championships in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles during the meet. He won his fourth-straight, giving him one in every year in maroon and gold, in the 110 hurdles, running in 13.93 seconds. He followed that up in the 400 hurdles, winning his third-straight title with a 50.52-second race. With the wins, Campbell now holds the record for Division III men for the most total national championships in a career between the indoor and outdoor seasons with 11.

He also added a third All-American award at the meet, as he ran the anchor leg for the Gulls' 4x400-meter relay team, which finished eighth in the meet with a time of 3:17.90.

Campbell was also named the national championships Most Outstanding Performer for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
