Christopher Newport nabbed its third consecutive CAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship with six individual titles in the 20 events through the two-day meet hosted by Salisbury.

Combining the indoor and outdoor seasons, CNU has now captured six straight CAC track & field titles. The Captains totaled 191.5 points, out-distancing runner-up Wesley (143) by over nearly 50 points. Salisbury was closed behind in third with 133 points, followed by Mary Washington (111) and York (78.5) in the top five. Penn State Harrisburg (56), Frostburg State (38) and Southern Virginia (29) rounded out the team scoring.

Four records fell throughout the two days of the championship, including two from the champion Captains. CNU's Grayson Reid set a new championship meet record in the 5,000 meters at 14:55.31, breaking the previous mark of 15:07.44 set by teammate Peyton Artz at the 2017 championship. Legend Hayes also broke the CAC championship in the discus throw for CNU, measuring a toss of 50.87 meters, which bested the previous mark of 50.71 set in 2006 by Mary Washington's James Eberhardt.

York's Alex Smith broke his own championship meet record in the 3,000 steeplechase, crossing in 9:08.85 to top his time of 9:21.78 that he recorded last spring.
Salisbury's Donovan Beckett-Simms also took down a championship record, registering a jump of 14.90 meters in the triple jump. The previous record was set in 2010 by Gallaudet's Darius Flowers.

Other champions for CNU on Saturday included Ryan Scott in the 110 hurdles (14.46) and Cavanaugh McGaw in the 800 (1:54.21).

Second-place Wesley secured a quartet of gold medals at the championships. Individually, Christian Saulsbury took first in the 100 (10.86), Tysean Cousar won the 200 (21.77), and Dominic McAnulty crossed first in the 400 (48.20). The Wolverines also won both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. John Castro, Greg Taylor, John Heriot, and Saulsbury raced to a time of 41.67 in the 4x100, and Cousar, McAnulty, Thomas Kalieta, Jr. and Heriot grabbed gold in the 4x400 at 3:14.96..

Mary Washington performed well in the field events on Saturday, with Daniel Forjan claiming gold in the shot put (14.92m) and Rajai Walton winning the high jump (2.06m).

Other individual champions included Penn State Harrisburg's Jalil Clayton in the 400 hurdles (53.24) and York's Grant Dell in the 1500 (3:59.27).
