Christopher Newport junior Jeff Dover earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year after breaking two records at the Colonial Relays over the weekend at William & Mary. On Friday, he established a new CAC record in the 1500 meters, crossing in 3:50.83. His time shaved a full second off the previous CAC mark of 3:51.83, set by Salisbury's George Martinez in 2016. He finished fourth overall and first among DIII competitors in the 1500. It also marked the second-fastest clocking in CNU history and equaled the second-fastest mark in the NCAA this year. On Saturday, Dover returned to the track for another record-setting run as a member of the 4x1500. He helped lead CNU's top foursome to a time of 16:02.20, which beat the previous school record of 16:03.41, which was set last year. It also marked the sixth-fastest clocking at the meet and the finest effort by a Division III squad.
