Christopher Newport Places Fourth at South/Southeast Men's Cross Country Regionals; York Takes Eighth at Mid-East Regionals

Mid-East Regionals 

CAC individual champion Tim Hartung led CAC team champion York to seventh place on Saturday at the Mid-East Regional Championships at Lehigh. Hartung grabbed the top CAC mark with a ninth-place finish to earn All-Region honors for the third straight season. Spartan junior Michael Stetson also nabbed All-Region recognition with a 26th-place mark. 

In addition to Hartung and Stetson, senior Craig Seppler (65th), junior Wil Murray (73rd), and freshman Matthew Hayes (82nd) also contributed to the Spartans finish. 

Salisbury placed 16th, paced by sophomore Thomas Burke in 76th place. Sophomore George Martinez also finish in the top 100, securing 98th. 

St. Mary's finished 30th, Frostburg State turned in a 34th place finish, and Penn State Harrisburg took 49th. Wesley also had a pair of runners compete in the race, but did not qualify for the team standings. 

Johns Hopkins captured the team title with 62 points, with Dickinson (88) in second and Haverford (106) in third. 

South / Southeast Regionals

Christopher Newport led the way for the CAC with a fourth-place finish, led by All-Region performers senior Aaron Zook (25th) and freshman John LaPointe (28th). Freshman Andrew Benfer claimed 36th, Samuel Martin was close behind in 38th, and William Rabil took 48th. 

Mary Washington placed 11th, with sophomore Nick Eghtessad earning All-Region accolades with a 27th place mark. Junior Julian Menk placed 46th, freshman Ian Granger finished 62nd, junior Jeff Branson was 64th, and senior Corey Lyons nabbed 65th. 

Bridgewater won the team title with 74 points, followed by Emory (91) and Centre (104).
