Eight CAC Men's Cross Country Teams Compete Over Weekend

Six men's cross country teams around the CAC traveled to the Dickinson Short-Long Invitational on Saturday, while Frostburg State and Southern Virginia also competed over the weekend. 

Mary Washington, Marymount, Penn State Harrisburg, St. Mary's, Wesley and York each represented the CAC at the Dickinson Invitational. The event consisted of two races, a 6K and an 8K. For full results, click here

In other action, Frostburg State competed at the Saint Vincent Invitational, while Southern Virginia ran at the Maroon Invitational. 

Mary Washington was led by junior Nick Eghtessad in the 8K, crossing the line in 41st place with a time of 27:23. Freshman Ben Sorenson was UMW's top finisher in the 6K, placing 33rd overall.

In their first meet since September 6th, St. Mary's came away with a 13th-place finish in the 36-team field.

Carlton Sheppard placed 84th out of 260 runners in the 4K to lead the Wesley on Saturday afternoon. Sheppard completed the 2.5 mile course in 13:23. 

In the shorter 4K race, York was led by freshman Alex Smith as he finished with a time of 12:42 to finish 33rd in the race. In the 8K race, freshman Ryan Aug led the Spartans with a 48th place finish, recording a time of 27:39.26. 

Sophomore Stanton Higham finished 31st to lead the Frostburg State to a seventh-place finish at the Saint Vincent Invitational, Saturday morning. The Bobcats earned 178 points to take seventh and had their top-five runners finish inside the top-50.

Southern Virginia headed to Salem, Va. this weekend for the annual Maroon Invitational. Results have not yet been made available.
