2017 CAC Cross Country Championship Preview
The 2017 CAC Cross Country Championship meet will be hosted by Christopher Newport at Lee Hall Mansion in Newport News, Va. on Saturday. Race time for women's 6k is set for 11 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at noon.
On the men's side, Christopher Newport and senior Grayson Reid are aiming for three-peats this Saturday. The Captains have captured two straight team titles and Reid has secured two straight individual titles. Reid is looking to become just the third CAC runner to win three individual titles (Goucher's Jeff Olenick 1997, 1999, 2000 & York's Tim Hartung 2011-13).
On the women's side, York will aim to defend its title after edging Christopher Newport for its first-ever CAC Championship last fall. At the 2016 champiosnhip meet, the Spartans narrowly defeated the Captains by two points, ending CNU's three-year streak atop the conference.
