Masteran placed second at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday with a time of 25:12. Masteran's final push down the stretch was just held off by race winner Langston Gash from Stevenson, who was less than a second and a half ahead of the Salisbury senior at the line. Masteran improved his time at the Winter Place Park course by 36 seconds. The run was the fastest time by a Sea Gull on their home course since 2011.

Men's Cross Country Honor Roll

Michael Carrico | Christopher Newport | Jr.
Carrico led the Captains with a sixth-place finish at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday. During the meet, he posted a time of 25:44.43 in the 8k. That not only marked a new PR for the junior, but it also stands 23rd on the program's all-time 8k performance list. 

Robert Romano | Frostburg State | Sr.
Romano posted his third-straight win as he took home the title at Frostburg's Bobcat Invitational. Romano ran to the win behind a time of 28:26.01.

Jeff Gibson | Mary Washington | Jr.
Gibson finished third overall at the George Mason Invitational on Saturday with a time of 25:59, leading Mary Washington to a third place finish in the primarily-Division I race. The men's standings saw George Mason take first with 24 points, while VMI followed with 62 points. UMW was third with 81, followed by Howard, Longwood, Norfolk State, and Hampton.
