Salisbury senior LeAnne Collins and sophomore Emily Allen have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

The Academic All-District Teamrecognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes from eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

Collins, a senior outfielder for the Sea Gulls, is a Management major with a 3.43 GPA. She batted .430 from the leadoff spot throughout the season with 23 extra-base hits, notching a dozen doubles, eight triples, and trio of home runs. The Sparks, Maryland native scored 46 runs this season allowing with driving in 21. Collins closed out her career as the program's all-time leader in career triples with 18 over her time in maroon and gold while climbing to fourth in runs scored, with 166, and fifth in career hits, with 236.

Allen, a sophomore catcher, is a Nursing major boasting a 3.85 GPA. She hit a team-high-tying seven home runs this year, while batting .328 with 30 RBIs and 23 runs scored. She has been a mainstay behind home plate, as the team's starting catcher through much of the year, leading the pitching staff to a sub-4.00 ERA.
