Mary Washington and Marymount, the top two women's basketball teams in the Capital Athletic Conference, were selected to compete in the 2008 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, starting Friday, March 7.

UMW, which won two-straight CAC titles and three of the last four, was the top seeded team in the Atlantic Region and will host a four-team tournament this weekend.  The Eagles (26-2) will face Baruch (22-6) in Friday's first round.  The winner advances to Saturday's second-round contest against the winner of TCNJ (21-6) and Bridgewater (Va.) Marymount, which finished second in the CAC the past two years, will travel to Allentown, Pa., to play in a four-team event at Muhlenberg College.  Friday's first-round showdown for the Saints (23-5) will be against Salem (Mass.) State (21-6).  The winner advances to Saturday's second-round class against either Muhlenberg (21-6) or DeSales (24-3).

Starting times for the NCAA playoff games will be announced Monday afternoon.
