The CAC women's basketball playoff pairings were set prior to the beginning of Saturday's regular-season ending action.  The only question was would Mary Washington complete the unefeated run through the 25-game regular season.

Senior guard Jenna McRae scored a game-high 21 points, and seniors Katie Wimmer and Claire Brooks each added 17 to lead the seventh-ranked University of Mary Washington women's basketball team to a 97-47 win at Wesley College on Saturday, capping the Eagles' undefeated run through the regular season with a perfect 25-0 record.

UMW finishes the season undefeated for the second time in the past seven years.  The 2005-06 Eagles and this year's squad are the only two CAC women's basketball teams  in the 22-year history of the conference to post a 25-0 mark in the regular season.

Mary Washington also recorded the seventh undefeated record in CAC history, and became just the second team to finish conference play undefeated since the season expanded to 16 games.  

Marymount recorded four perfect seasons in the first seven years of the conference, and UMW added the fifth perfect season (14-0) in 2005-06.  York became the first team to go coast to coast in a 16-game schedule in 2008-09, and Mary Washington matched that mark this year.

In other action Saturday, second-place York (21-4, 14-2 CAC) downed third-place Salisbury (14-10, 11-5 CAC), 62-51, fourth-place Marymount (13-12, 10-6 CAC) defeated sixth-place Stevenson (10-15, 5-11 CAC) by a 66-52 margin and fifth-place St. Mary's (10-15, 8-8 CAC) stopped seventh-place Frostburg State (5-20, 3-13 CAC), 85-60.

At Wesley, the Eagles jumped out to a 48-23 halftime advantage, and outscored the hosts, 49-24, in the second half. UMW shot 52.4% from the floor for the day (33-63), including 11-23 three pointers, and made 20-29 free throws. Wesley shot 30.8% (16-52) and made seven of 19 three pointers.  McRae shot 9-12 from the floor, including 2-3 three pointers, and added one free throw. Wimmer was 6-10, making all three of her three point attempts, and added seven assists, six rebounds, and five steals, surpassing the 200-steal plateau in her career. Brooks went 3-3 from the floor and a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line.

At York, the Spartans closed out their 2011-12 regular season with a 62-51 victory at Salisbury.  YCP had four players reach double figures led by Brittany Hicks tallied 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.  Kristen Haley recorded her 10^th double-double of the year as the forward had 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.  Kelsey Murphy tallied 11 points and three steals while sophomore point guard Aja Wallpher was the fourth Spartan in double figures with 10 points, five assists, two blocks and two steals in her 37 minutes of work. Senior April Sparkman contributed nine points and nine rebounds in her final regular season collegiate contest. Katie McGahagan and Cinthia Ruiz teamed to pace the Sea Gulls as they each tallied 14 points. McGahagan added a team-high nine rebounds while she also had two assists. Anna Hackett was the third Gull in double figures with 10 points.

At Marymount, the host Saints wrapped up the 2011-12 regular season with a 66-52 victory over Stevenson.  With the win, the Saints have posted six consecutive seasons with at least 10 CAC wins and 17 years overall.  Four Saints (13-12, 10-6 CAC) scored in double-figures in the win led by Katelyn Fischer tying a game-high with 18 points.  Jackie Bohenek added 13, Tynisha Parks had 11 and Julie Tomesheski chipped in 10.  Tomesheski also posted a double-double with a game-high 14 rebounds while Bohenek nearly joined her with nine boards. As a team, the Saints outrebounded their visitors 48-27 on the day.  Pee-Jay Gunn led Stevenson with 18 points.

At. St. Mary's, reserves Leah Cramner (12 pts.) and Aura Payne (10 pts.) led the host Seahawks to an 85-60 decision over Frostburg State.  Forward Joanna Murray also added 11 scores for the hosts, who raced out to a 41-20 halftime lead and cruised to the win.  R.J. James (15 pts.) and Stephanie Stracka (14 pts.) topped the Bobcats.
