CAC Champion Marymount Will Face Eastern Mennonite At CNU In The Opening Round Of The NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament
Regular-season and playoff champion Marymount University gained the CAC's only bid to the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament, where the Saints will face Eastern Mennonite in the opening round.
MU and EMU will square off Friday in the opening round of the tournament at Christopher Newport University. The winner will face either CNU or Guilford in Saturday's second round.
Game time for the weekend event at CNU will be announced later this week.
Marymount's most recent tournament appearance was in 2010, when the Saints won two games and advanced to the Elite 8 before falling to Hope in the Sweet 16.
It's just the third time in the last eight years that the CAC has had only one team advance to the NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament.
