YORK, Pa. -- Wesley freshman Alexus Stroud was named the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 1, 2014.

Wesley freshman Alexus Stroud was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Wolverines to a pair of victories last week, including a road win at York in the opening CAC contest of the year. Last Tuesday against Widener, Stroud went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line on her way to 17 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 79-67 win. Against York, she notched a season-high 19 points and came up big down the stretch, scoring seven straight points in the final minutes to seal the 78-70 win over the Spartans.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

CAC action will be in full swing this week with 11 conference contests on tap ... Salisbury received votes in last week's D3hoops.com and WBCA/USA TODAY national polls, while Christopher Newport received votes in the WBCA/USA TODAY poll ... Sam Porter led Christopher Newport in scoring in a 2-0 week for the Captains, with 15 points vs. N.C. Wesleyan and 18 points vs. Lynchburg ... Salisbury senior Anna Hackett dropped a game-high 26 points in an 80-70 victory over Stevenson in the Sea Gulls' only game for the week. Hackett has been the game's leading scorer for the last three Salisbury games, all of which were over 25 points. Salisbury remains unbeaten at 5-0.
