YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior point guard Anna Hackett was chosen as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 12, 2014.

Salisbury senior Anna Hackett was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after guiding the Sea Gulls to another 2-0 week in the CAC, maintaining their unblemished conference record. Hackett averaged 27.5 points per game, with game-highs of 28 points against Mary Washington and 27 points against York. She also dished out 6.5 assists per contest and shot 18-of-29 (62.1%) from the floor and 15-of-16 (93.7%) from the free throw line.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury is the only CAC team with a perfect conference record at 6-0 and is ranked 20th in the WBCA/USA TODAY Top-25 and 21st D3hoops.com rankings ... Christopher Newport, Mary Washington and Marymount all trail Salisbury by one game in the CAC standings at 5-1 ... Camry Green helped lead Christopher Newport to a decisive conference win over Penn State Harrisburg in the Captains' only action as she posted her 10th double-double of the season, with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and moved into a tie for seventh on the all-time rebounding list at CNU, with 861 rebounds. Her 10 double-doubles ranks tied for fifth in the nation and second in the CAC. She now has 39 career double-doubles, ranking fifth among active players ... Sophomore Brianne Comden led Mary Washington to a pair of wins this week as the reigning CAC Player of the Week. She scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a win over Shenandoah on Monday, and followed that effort with 11 points and eight rebounds against Salisbury on Wednesday. She capped the week with 21 points as the Eagles topped Wesley, 86-68. For the week, she averaged 18 PPG and 8.3 rebounds per contest ... Penn State Harrisburg's Kiara Carter led the Lions in scoring and rebounding in all three games last week en route to three double-doubles, averaging 16.3 points and 15.0 rebounds per contest ... Kerri Kline helped St. Mary's to back-to-back CAC wins this week, extending its win streak to three, with a pair of 20-point games. Kline started the week with a then-season-best 21 points at Frostburg State and added season-bests of eight rebounds, four steals, and two blocks. She continued with a new season-high of 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting against Southern Virginia, including going 3-of-4 from downtown ...  For Salisbury, Anna Hackett made a four-spot jump on the program's all-time scoring list from No. 7 to No. 3 with 1,507 career points ... Southern Virginia's Ann Kuroki had nearly two double-doubles during the week as she posted 12 points and 16 rebounds against Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday and 16 points and eight boards against St. Mary's on Saturday ... York's Shea Wassell finished the week averaging 21 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 64% from the floor and nailing all 10 of her free throw attempts in the two games. Wassel's double-double against Salisbury was her team-leading sixth of the year.
