St. Mary's Women's Basketball Coach Crystal Gibson Named to Lebanon Valley Hall of Fame

Crystal Gibson, St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball head coach, is one of five Lebanon Valley College alumni making up the LVC Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2015. The induction ceremony will take place Friday, Oct. 9 during the Flying Dutchmen's Homecoming Weekend.

Gibson was a two-sport athlete who achieved as much success on the track as she did on the hardwood while attending Lebanon Valley.

The Owings Mills, Md. native earned outdoor track & field All-America honors thanks to her fifth place finish in the high jump as a freshman in 2002. She remains the school's record holder in the event. Gibson transitioned to sprinting with ease, running the program's third fastest 200m time and the seventh fastest 100m and 400m times, respectively.

Her efforts on the court helped lead LVC women's basketball team to four consecutive ECAC tournament appearances and an ECAC championship in 2003. The dynamic point guard was a four-year starter and her 3,525 minutes played is a school record. She ranks second all-time in program history with 528 assists while netting 773 points and grabbing 479 rebounds during her stellar career.

Upon her graduation, Gibson continued to make her mark as a Lebanon Valley assistant track & field and women's basketball coach.

Gibson has mentored four All-Capital Athletic Conference selections as well as the 2015 CAC Rookie of the Year during her four years at St. Mary's, leading the Seahawks to four consecutive CAC Tournament appearances.
