YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Lauren Rothfeld was selected as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 6, 2017.

Salisbury senior Lauren Rothfeld was selected as the CAC Player of the Week for the second time this year after averaging a double-double with 19.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Against Wesley, Rothfeld recorded 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and two blocks. Against York, she totaled 19 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and four steals. For the week, she shot 60.7% from the floor (17-of-28) and averaged four steals and four assists per contest.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport and Mary Washington are ranked in both the WBCA and D3hoops.com national rankings. CNU is ranked No. 5 by both polls, while UMW is ranked No. 8 in both polls ... Two weeks and four games remain in the CAC regular season, with the six-team postseason set to begin with the first round on Tuesday, Feb. 21. CNU and UMW both sport identical 20-1 overall and 13-1 CAC marks, with their only losses coming against each other. Marymount (17-4, 11-3) holds a two-game edge over York (15-6, 9-5) for third place. The Captains, Eagles, Saints, and Spartans have each already locked up playoff bids ... Salisbury (11-10, 7-7) and Frostburg State (9-12, 7-7) are deadlocked for fifth place, and hold a commanding three-game edge over St. Mary's (6-16, 4-10) for the final two playoff spots ... Christopher Newport junior Devon Byrd scored season-high 20 points in loss at No. 8 Mary Washington, knocking down 8-of-11 shots. The Captains second-longest winning streak of all-time came to an end at 19 with a defeat to UMW last Wednesday ... Frostburg State sophomore Victoria Diggs averaged 18.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. She opened the week with 23 points against Penn State Harrisburg and she added 14 points against Mary Washington ... Mary Washington junior Kendall Parker had a record-breaking week for the Eagles, as they topped No. 5 Christopher Newport and Frostburg State. On Saturday, the junior guard made a school and CAC record nine three-point baskets in 15 attempts, as the Eagles downed the Bobcats, 63-52. She broke her own school record of eight, which was one of four previous CAC performances with eight triples. Senior Brianne Comden scored 26 points in Wednesday's win over CNU, and is one point shy of fifth place in school history in scoring ... Marymount's lone senior Kiki Laux helped the Saints to a 2-0 week with her team-leading 16.5 points per game on 57.1% shooting. She kicked off the week with a game-high 23 points in the victory over Southern Virginia, shooting 8-for-9 from the floor and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line ... Penn State Harrisburg senior Kaitlyn Carmo averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per contest in a 1-1 week for the Lions. Carmo was one rebound shy of double-double in win over Southern Virginia on Saturday ... St. Mary's Nina Haller averaged 17.0 points and 7.5 rebounds to lead the Seahawks this past week. With her 10th point in the first half at York, Haller tallied her 1,000th career point. She finished out the week with game-bests of 18 points and nine rebounds against No. 5 Christopher Newport ... Southern Virginia junior Shelby Winsor notched her third 20-point game of the year and neared a double-double (20 pts, 9 reb) against Penn State Harrisburg. Winsor leads the Knights this season in PPG (13.7), RPG (7.7) and FG% (42.3).

Brionna Johnson averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in three games this week helping Wesley to a pair of victories. The senior forward netted 10 points, including the game-winning putback with 1.4 seconds remaining to give Wesley a two-point win over Widener University in the team's season opener.
