FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Salisbury senior Mary McDonagh and York junior Katie McGowan claimed CAC Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week honors for Feb. 19, 2018.

Salisbury senior Mary McDonagh collected CAC Co-Player of the Week honors after averaging 21.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for Salisbury. She shot 54.2% from the field and 52.9% from three. The senior scored 19 points on 63.6% shooting from the field in a win over Wesley to go along with five assists and three rebounds. McDonagh followed that up with a career-high 24 point performance against Southern Virginia. She shot 6-for-10 from three point range while adding six assists and five rebounds. McDonagh was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the two games. The Sea Gulls earned the No. 5 seed in this week's CAC Tournament.

York junior Katie McGowan was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week after averaging 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 60.9% from the floor and 100% from the free throw line in wins over St. Mary's and Christopher Newport. She opened the week with 17 points, 10 rebounds and six steals against St. Mary's. In a crucial win at CNU that clinched the No. 3 seed for the Spartans, McGowan poured in 19 points, grabbed six boards and shot 8-for-13 from the floor.

Marymount clinched the CAC women's basketball regular season title and the top seed in the CAC Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons with a 49-36 victory at Mary Washington. The Saints (17-1 CAC) posted the first one-less regular season since Salisbury accomplished the feat in 2014-15 ... The CAC Tournament will begin with Tuesday's first round, featuring No. 6 Frostburg State at No. 3 York, and No. 5 Salisbury at No. 4 Mary Washington ... No. 1 Marymount and No. 2 Christopher Newport will host Thursday's semifinals, with the CAC Championship set for Saturday at the highest remaining seed's home court ... CNU's Sam Porter averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Captains ... Frostburg State sophomore Victoria Diggs averaged 21.0 points as the Bobcats closed the regular season with two wins ... Senior Kendall Parker averaged 12.0 PPG for Mary Washington in losses to CNU and Marymount this week ... Marymount senior Leah Hurst put up 26 points through her two games this past week, including her 1,000th-career point in the victory over Mary Washington on Saturday. She averaged 13.0 points per game on 52.2% shooting, while adding 4.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game ... Kerri Kline paced St. Mary's at York with 13 points as Kline knocked down a season-best seven free throws. She followed that up with 10 points, five rebounds, and a season-high three assists. Kline finishes her career as the school's all-time leader in three-point field goals made (178) and fourth all-time with 1,229 points ... Southern Virginia freshman Katie Garrish averaged 17.5 points and 16 rebounds last week for the Knights ... Wesley's Monshea Newsome-Murray collected 32 points, 16 rebounds, 11 assists and nine rebounds for the Wolverines last week.
