Christopher Newport Earns Spot in NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament

NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket

Christopher Newport has earned Capital Athletic Conference's (CAC) automatic bid and will hit the road this weekend for the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. The CAC champions will hit the road to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for the opening rounds of NCAA's. 

CNU, which defeated Southern Virginia 83-67 in last Saturday's CAC Championship game, will be making its fourth straight and 20th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Captains (23-5) will take on hosts Gettysburg (22-5) in Friday's first round. Mt. St. Mary (NY) will face Westfield State in the other first-round matchup, with the winners set to play on Saturday with a spot in the Sweet 16 at stake.
