FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Christopher Newport placed a conference-best five golfers on the 2018 All-CAC Women's Golf First Team and swept the major awards to lead the all-conference honors from the first-ever conference women's golf championship. 

CNU freshman Erica Whitehouse ran away with the individual title to claim both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year awards at the inaugural championship event. Whitehouse carded a 54-hole total of 220 strokes, earning a 26-stroke victory. 

Fellow CNU freshmen Cameron Cook, Katie Thome, Abbey Forde and Harper Lurie also secured top-six placings to make their way onto the All-CAC first team. Cook finished as the individual runner-up, Thome finished third, Forde placed fifth and Lurie was sixth. 

Captains head coach Jamie Coleman was selected by his peers as the CAC Coach of the Year after guiding CNU to the team title. 

York, which finished in second place, was led by freshman Emma Harding on the All-CAC first team. Harding placed fourth in the individual standings. York's other four golfers earned second team honors, with freshmen Eunice Sung (t-8th), Bethany Snodgrass (10th), Lindsey Bonner (11th) and Keri Mahoney (12th) securing top-12 placings. 

Southern Virginia was represented on the All-CAC second team by junior Bailey Rusick and freshman Bailey Pfunder. Rusick took seventh place, while Pfunder finished in a tie for eight for the Knights.
