Whitehouse, Christopher Newport Extend Leads at CAC Women's Golf Championship

Erica Whitehouse and Christopher Newport extended their leads on day two of the CAC Women's Golf Championship on Friday on the Palmer Course at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va. 

The Captains posted a round two total of 345 and now sit at 671 (+95) through 36 holes. York is in second place with a two-day total of 758, followed by Southern Virginia in third place at 871. 

Whitehouse continued her assault on the Palmer Course and the rest of the field, carding a one-over par 73 for the second-straight day. Whitehouse is now two-over 146 through 36 holes and holds a 22-stroke lead over the next closest competitor. 

CNU's Katie Thome is in second place at 168 after recording an 84 for the second straight day, while teammate Cameron Cook sits in third place at 169.

Emma Harding is the leading the way for York in fourth place with a two-day total of 186 after shooting 90 on Friday. Southern Virginia's Bailey Pfunder is pacing the Knights in sixth place with a two-day total of 189. Pfunder shot a 90 in Friday's second round. 

 

The third and final day of the CAC Championship begins at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday.
