Four CAC Women's Golf Teams Compete in Inaugural Tournament
Four Capital Athletic Conference women's golf teams will compete in their inaugural tournament on Sept. 11-12 at the Bay Creek Invitational in Cape Charles, Va. Christopher Newport, Penn State Harrisburg, Southern Virginia, and York will open their first-ever campaigns at the 36-hole CAC Championship preview tournament.
Women's golf became the 22nd CAC sport beginning this year, with the first-ever CAC Women's Golf Championship to be played in the spring of 2018. The inaugural conference championship will be played at the same site as the men's - Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va.
Mary Washington will open its inaugural campaign on Oct. 2 at the Washington & Lee Invitational, while Marymount - which was the first CAC member to begin women's golf, in 2014-15, opened its fourth season this past weekend.
