Christopher Newport's Whitehouse, York's Moore Highlight All-CAC Women's Golf Team
York (Pa.) and Christopher Newport both placed three golfers each on the 2019 All-CAC Women's Golf First Team and and split the major awards from the second-ever conference women's golf championship held April 18-20 at the Golden Horseshoe Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
CNU sophomore Erica Whitehouse earned her second straight individual title to claim Player of the Year awards. Whitehouse carded a 54-hole total of 237 strokes, earning a five-stroke victory. York's Anna Moore collected Rookie of the Year accolades as she led the Spartans to the team championship as well as an individual runner-up finish at 26-over for the week.
A trio of York freshman in Anna Moore (2nd), Jordan Koller (3rd) and Shelby Tapman (t-5) led the Spartans to the title and also took home first team all-conference recognition. Joining CNU's Whitehouse on the first team were freshman Shreya Ganta (4th) and sophomore Katie Thome (t-5).
CNU sophomores Cameron Cook (8th) and Harper Lurie (11th) represented the Captains on the all-conference second team with York sophomores Lindsey Bonner (9th) and Emma Harding (10th) rounding out the Spartans' award recipients.
Mary Washington's Andrea Dill garnered second team honorees following a seventh place finish from the sophomore, while Southern Virginia was represented on the All-CAC second team by senior Bailey Rusick (12th).
York's David Boslough and Christopher Newport's Jamie Coleman also shared CAC Coach of the Year honors.
