York Outduels Christopher Newport to Win 2019 CAC Women's Golf Championship

York (Pa.) outdueled Christopher Newport on the final day to win the 2019 CAC Women's Golf Championship which concluded on Saturday, April 20 at the Golden Horseshoe Resort's Green Course, a par 72 layout in Williamsburg, Va.

The Spartans fired a final round 326 (+38) to edge the Captains by just a single stroke. York was led by Anna Moore (+26) and Jordan Koller (+28) who finished second and third, respectively, after match rounds of 81 on Saturday. 

CNU's Erica Whitehouse captured medalist honors as she carded 80 on Saturday to finish at 21-over par for the three-day event. CNU's Shreya Ganta (+32) placed fourth for the Captains, while her teammate Katie Thome was tied-for-fith at +34 with York's Shelby Tapman.

Southern Virginia (+330) moved into third place as the Knights beat out Mary Washington (+334) by four strokes. UMW's Andrea Dill (+35) finished solo seventh for the championship.
