Stevenson rose to the No. 2 seed for the CAC playoffs with a win at Hood, but the Mustangs joined the other three top seeds - Salisbury, Mary Washington and St. Mary's - in the winner's circle Wednesday.

The Mustangs downed the Blazers, 20-4, to tie Mary Washington for second place in the CAC standings.  Stevenson defeated UMW during the regular season, giving the Mustangs the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming CAC playoffs.

The other first-round bye goes to top-seeded Salisbury, the defending CAC and national champions that closed out conference play Wednesday with an 18-2 win at Wesley.

Mary Washington, which defeated visiting Roanoke Wednesday 19-16 in non-conference action, will be the third seed in the CAC Tournament and host sixth-seeded Frostburg State in a first-round playoff contest Saturday.  FSU had a bye on the final day of the regular season.

St. Mary's topped visiting Marymount Wednesday, 17-4, to clinch the fourth seed for the CAC playoffs.  The Seahawks will host fifth-seeded York in a first-round playoff game Saturday.

The semifinal schedule, set for Tuesday (April 19), will feature Salisbury hosting the winner of the York at SMC game while Stevenson will host the winner of the FSU at UMW showdown.

Wednesday at Frederick, Md., Stevenson scored the final five goals of the first half for a 12-2 lead at the break, then scored the first four goals of the second half to put away the win against Hood.  Megan Weiss topped the Mustangs with four goals and two assists while Leah Warner chipped in three scores and two helpers.

At Dover, Del., Salisbury's Roxanne Raab posted a game-high nine points in an 18-2 victory at Wesley on four assists and a personal-best five goals. Mackenzie White (two goals, three assists) and sophomore attacker Maggie Roundy (one goal, four assists) each recorded five points for the Sea Gulls.

At St. Mary's City, Md., an 11-goal first half propelled St. Mary's to a 17-4 CAC victory over Marymount.  Sophomore midfielder Lauriann Parker matched her season-best with four goals while adding two assists to lead the Seahawks in the win.

At Fredericksburg, Va., UMW junior Lauren Callison scored six goals and classmate Catherine Kennedy added five as the Eagles defeated Roanoke, 19-16.   The Maroons led in shots, 43-35, while each team picked up 11 ground balls. Danielle Guigli had 13 saves and Kathrun Stiltz two for the Eagles, who saw Katie Wallis and Keller Torrey each add two goals and three assists.
