Salisbury And York Gain Bids To NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament

CAC Champion and second-ranked Salisbury and CAC runner up and 10th-ranked York will both play on their home turf Wednesday in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament.

The Sea Gulls (17-0), who on Saturday earned an automatic bid in the field after claiming the program's 13th Capital Athletic Conference championship, will take on Cabrini College (11-7) in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday, May 8, at Sea Gull Stadium.

The Spartans (13-4), who fell in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament championship game on Sunday against #2 Salisbury, earned their second straight NCAA tournament at-large bid as York will host Washington & Lee on Wednesday, May 8 in the opening round of the tournament. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.

If Salisbury and York each win their first two games in the NCAA Tournament, they would square off for the third time this season in the national quarterfinals next Sunday (May 12).

The final four teams advance to the national semifinals (May 18) and championship match (May 19) at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Md.
