Salisbury continues its quest for a repeat NCAA National Championship this weekend, as the second-ranked Sea Gulls (21-1) are set to meet No. 5 Amherst (19-2) in the NCAA semifinals on Saturday at Gettysburg College at 4 p.m.

The Sea Gulls return to the Final Four for the third straight year, and are seeking the third national title in program history.

Saturday's first semifinal game features No. 1 Cortland State (22-0) and No. 3 Trinity (Conn.) (18-2) at 1 p.m. Salisbury defeated Trinity 12-5 in last year's title match, and suffered its only loss this spring to Cortland State, 12-8 on April 20.

The two semifinal winners advance to the national championship on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

After capturing its 12th straight CAC title, Salisbury received a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament. The Sea Gulls then cruised to victories over Farmingdale State, 18-7, and Augustana (Ill.), 16-3, before earning a spot in the Final Four with an 11-6 triuimph over Franklin & Marshall in the quarterfinals.

Amherst fell to Trinity in the NESCAC championship game and received an at-large bid into the national tournament. Following a first-round bye, the Lord Jeffs cruised past Bridgewater State, 20-4, and York, 12-3, before upending fourth-ranked TCNJ 8-5 in the regional finals. The Lord Jeffs are making their sixth NCAA semifinal appearance.

Saturday's showdown will mark the fourth meeting between Salisbury and Amherst, with the Lord Jeffs clinging to a 2-1 series edge.
