Four Salisbury Women's Lacrosse Plyaers Named ECAC Mid-Atlantic First Team All-Stars

Complete ECAC Mid-Atlantic Women's Lacrosse Team 

Salisbury women's lacrosse senior Ashton Wheatley and juniors Bethany BaerLaura Maskell and Shelby Nemecek represented the CAC on the ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Star First Team. 

Wheatley finished second in the nation with a 5.85 goals-against average and 15th in the country with a .514 save percentage. The Cambridge, Md., native started each of the Sea Gulls' 23 contests this year and was second on the squad with 37 ground balls. The goalie was able to cause 13 turnovers, tied for sixth most on the team.

Baer was force on both ends of the field for the Sea Gulls this season. The midfielder was third on the team with 61 points, on 48 goals and 13 assists; her 48 goals were second on the team. The Westminster, Md., native led the team in draw controls and ground balls, with 61 and 41, respectively. She finished second on the team with 26 caused turnovers.

Maskell was a ball hawk for the Sea Gulls this season. The Ellicott City, Md., native finished second on the team with 49 draw control wins, while ending the season third on the squad with 34 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. Maskell and the Salisbury defense ended the year as the fifth-best scoring defense, allowing 5.92 goals per game.

Nemecek stepped in as the finisher for Salisbury on the offensive end, leading the team with 69 goals. The Marriottsville, Md., native was equally adept at taking the ball away from the opponent, causing a team-leading 27 turnovers. Nemecek finished second on the team in points with 75 and third on the squad with 47 draw controls, while scooping up 26 ground balls.
