Seven CAC Women's Lacrosse Players Receive IWLCA All-America Honors

Seven CAC women's lacrosse players have been honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) as All-Americans, announced Wednesday. Salisbury led the way with three selections, while Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, St. Mary's, and York each had one. 

Headlining the squad were the Salisbury duo of senior attacker Megan Wallenhorst and junior midfielder Gabbi Nieves, both first-team selections. Sophomore goalkeeper Gianna Falcone was a third-team selection. Wallenhorst, the CAC Player of the Year, was a repeat All-America pick after claiming second team honors in 2015. 

Christopher Newport junior Meaghan GalvinMary Washington sophomore defender Kirsten Littlefield, St. Mary's senior midfielder Tori Poffenberger, and York senior defender Megan Strauch each earned second team honors. Strauch was the lone repeat selection among the group, as she collected third team accolades last spring. 

The IWLCA will honor these student-athletes at the IWLCA All-American Banquet on Saturday June 4, 2016 at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.
