Record Four CAC Teams Qualify for NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament

NCAA Women's Lacrosse Bracket

For the first time in CAC history, four women's lacrosse teams are headed to the NCAA Tournament. CAC champion Salisbury claimed the conference's automatic bid, while St. Mary's, Mary Washington, and York each secured at-large bids.

The previous CAC record for NCAA participants was three, which occurred three times - in 2001, 2003, and 2012. The CAC earned four of the 40 bids in this year's field.

The NCAA Tournament will begin on Saturday, May 14 with eight first-round matchups across Division III. All four CAC squads received first-round byes and will open up postseason play on Sunday, May 15.

Salisbury (16-2), which defeated St. Mary's 12-5 in the title game, will host the winner of Saturday's first round matchup between Meredith (17-1) and Cabrini (13-5) on Sunday at Sea Gull Stadium.

St. Mary's, the regular season and tournament runner-up, earned a spot in the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2008. The Seahawks (16-3) will host Brockport in Sunday's second round.

Mary Washington (14-4) secured an at-large bid for the first time since 2012, and will host Denison (13-6) on Sunday at the Battleground.

York (12-6) notched its fifth-straight at-large berth to NCAA's. The Spartans will travel to Amherst (12-4) for a second-round matchup on Sunday.
