Fifth-seeded Marymount held off a late rally by the fourth-seeded Marywood, 13-12, on Wednesday night in the ECAC Women's Lacrosse Championship first round to advance to Championship Weekend held at Stockton this weekend. 

With the win, the Saints advance to the semifinals on Saturday against top-seeded Stockton at 1 p.m. 

Behind a career defensive day by junior Liah Agouras, the Saints held off a three-goal run in the closing minutes by the Pacers to take the victory and advance to Saturday's semifinals. Agouras finished with a career-high six caused turnovers to go along with a career-high eight ground balls to pace the defensive front. 

Marymount jumped ahead, 5-0, in the opening 17 minutes of the game, behind two goals by sophomore Jessica Crew, who scored the first two for the Saints on the day. Sophomore Bridgette Stacom, who finished with a game-high five points, tacked on the next on a free-position goal, while junior captain Kellen Cannon followed in suit at the 18:56 mark. Sophomore Kelly Campbell capped off the stretch with a finish off the dish by Cannon to give the Saints a lead that would hold for the remainder of the contest. 

Marywood chipped away at the deficit before freshman Eliana Cassel cut the run with a goal with one minute remaining in the half to send the Saints into the break with a 6-3 advantage. 

Stacom and Campbell kicked off the restart with back-to-back goals to push back ahead by four, 8-4, while Crew sank her hat trick after the Pacers notched their first of second half. 

Over much of the rest of the half, the two teams went back and forth with two goals apiece, seeing Stacom notch two straight before the Pacers answered. Cannon followed in suit with two more before Marywood came through with three late finishes to get within one, but that's as close as it would come. 

Stacom finished with four goals and assist for five points, while Cannon added three goals and an assist. Junior Abby Wescott dished out a game-high four assists for the day, while Crew and Campbell chipped in three points apiece. 

Sophomore Holly Reik earned the win in the net, tending for the full 60 minutes for 10 saves.
