FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- York sophomore Regan Cook and Christopher Newport sophomore Kaitlyn Ready earned the CAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards for April 23, 2018.  

Offensive Player of the Week

York sophomore Regan Cook was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 10 goals and five assists in victories over Frostburg State, Gettysburg and Southern Virginia last week. In Wednesday's win over Frostburg State, Cook tallied six points on three goals and three assists. She notched her three goals on just three shots. She followed that with five points on four goals and one assist in a 14-12 win over No. 2 Gettysburg. Cook went 1-for-1 on free position shots and also had one ground ball in the win over the Bullets. In Saturday's win over Southern Virginia, Cook notched three goals including going 1-for-1 in free position shots. 

Defensive Player of the Week

Christopher Newport sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Ready was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting a pair of victories with 18 saves, a 78.3% save percentage and a goals against average of 3.00 in 100 minutes of action. Against Southern Virginia on Wednesday, she registered 12 saves, which marked her 13th double-digit effort of the year. Especially effective on free-position attempts, she made five stops on eight-meter shots while holding SVU to an 0-for-7 performance from the arc. On Saturday against Wesley, she came back with six more saves against the Wolverines, including another stop on a free-position attempt. She also collected a pair of ground balls during the two contests.

The 2018 CAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament field and seeds are set - No. 1 Salisbury and No. 2 York earned first-round byes and will host the semifinals. No. 3 Mary Washington will host No. 6 Marymount and No. 4 Christopher Newport will host No. 5 St. Mary's in the first round on Saturday ... In the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national rankings, while York (No. 7) and Mary Washington (No. 9) each remain in the top-10 ... Colleen Bourgal led CNU with seven goals, five assists, and 12 points during two victories last week. On Wednesday against Southern Virginia, she established new career-highs with eight points and three assists while matching her personal-best with five goals. She also tallied her 100th career point, helping her become the 20th player in program history to reach that plateau. On Saturday, she came back with four more points, including two goals, during a win over Wesley ... Frostburg State unior Morgan Cavey scored four goals last week as the Bobcats wrapped up their season ... Mary Washington senior Kirsten Littlefield led the UMW defense in an 18-6 win over Marymount, including six draw controls. The All-American leads UMW in draw controls, ground balls, and caused turnovers. Junior Julia Albert scored a team-high five points on three goals and two assists vs. Marymount ... St. Mary's junior Ali Collie started the week with a goal in a loss to Washington College before Collie exploded for career-highs of 10 points, seven caused turnovers, six assists, and six ground balls in the win at Wesley. Her 10 points are third in the single-game records ... Salisbury's Allie Hynson caused three turnovers, collected four ground balls, and came up with nine draw controls in a 2-1 week for the Sea Gulls. Alexis Strobel tallied 10 points last week to pace the SU attack ... Southern Virginia freshman Natalie Rice led the Knights with two goals last week, scoring in each contest ... Wesley junior Fallon Fore became the fifth member of the Wolverines' 100-goal club with two goals against Immaculata on Monday ... York junior Nicole Clauter notched four ground balls, 13 draw controls and three caused turnovers in the trio of York wins.
