Salisbury's Nestor Named IWLCA Regional Coach of the Year

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced the 2018 National and Regional Coaches of the Year in Division I, II, and III on Thursday afternoon. Salisbury University head coach Jim Nestor earned recognition from the organization as he was tabbed as the Division III Chesapeake Region Coach of the Year.

In his 17th season at the helm coach Nestor led the Sea Gulls to an overall record of 21-2 and a perfect 8-0 mark in Capital Athletic Conference play. Salisbury captured its 16th straight CAC title to help punch its ticket to the 2018 Division III Women's Lacrosse NCAA Tournament for the 16th consecutive season under Nestor's guidance.

Salisbury earned victories over Meredith College, Denison University, and Trinity College to punch its ticket to NCAA tournament's championship weekend for the 11th time in Salem, Virginia. However, the season came to an end in the semifinals as the Sea Gulls fell to eventual National Champion Gettysburg College.

For his efforts, Nestor earned CAC Coach of the Year honors for the 13th time in his career as well being named the 2018 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Coach of the Year.
