Salisbury and York kicked off the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament run on Sunday (May 12) afternoon, as the Sea Gulls defeated Lebanon Valley 16-3, while the Spartans took down Misericordia 17-8.

Salisbury used a dominant defensive performance to cruise to the second round victory as eight players recorded a caused turnover, while the defensive unit forced the Dutchmen into 20 total turnovers. Salisbury outshot their opponents by a 37-13 margin.

York's Meghan Fox reached a career milestone as she became just the third Spartan in school history to reach 200 career points. Fox led the Spartans with four goals and one assist while Nicole Clauter added five draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Mary Washington fell to Wesleyan in second round action by an 11-6 final score. Julia Albert paced the Eagles with three goals in the defeat.

Salisbury advances to the third round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament and will take on Colorado College. York moves on and will face St. John Fisher at a site to be determined on Monday.
