SU’s Dunbar, McDonnell Sweep C2C Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of the 2025 women's lacrosse season. Salisbury's Avery Dunbar earned C2C Offensive Player of the Week honors, while the Sea Gulls Regan McDonnell was tabbed C2C Defensive Player of the Week.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Avery Dunbar, Salisbury

Salisbury freshman Avery Dunbar had a strong week for the Sea Gulls, totaling five points on three goals and two assists while putting all four of her shots on goal and adding two ground balls. The freshman attacker netted the game-winner in Saturday's critical comeback victory over CNU to cap off her career-high four-point outing.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Regan McDonnell, Salisbury

Salisbury sophomore Regan McDonnell did a little bit of everything for the Sea Gulls this week, piling up five draw controls while causing four turnovers and chasing down four ground balls to go with three points on two goals and one assist on the other end. McDonnell secured three critical fourth-quarter draw controls in Wednesday's bout with Messiah and was everywhere in the victory against the Captains on Saturday, posting trios of caused turnovers and grounders while securing two draw controls and adding two points.

OFFENSE: Maelyn Eversole, Christopher Newport

DEFENSE: Brookelyn Morrison, Christopher Newport


C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport's Maelyn Eversole matched her career-high with five points in a narrow loss to No. 5 Salisbury on Saturday. Against the Sea Gulls, she posted four goals, including a go-ahead strike in the third quarter. Her four total strikes equaled the fourth-most by a Captain against a top-five foe in program history and the finest effort since 2021… Christopher Newport's Brookelyn Morrison helped control possession in a close loss No. 5 Salisbury on Saturday while collecting three takeaways and six draw controls. Her three caused turnovers equaled the second-most by a Captain against a top-five opponent in program history. Meanwhile, Saturday's appearance was her third straight outing with at least six draw controls, while she also chipped in with three points on the offensive end, including a go-ahead goal in the second quarter.
