St. Mary's (Md.) Junior Sarah Grady Selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors 

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD - Junior forward Sarah Grady (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team was named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Women's Soccer Second Team as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Grady is a biology major with a minor in neuroscience at St. Mary's.  She boasts a 3.96 cumulative GPA as a three-year letter winner for the Seahawk women's soccer program.

Besides playing soccer, Grady has been a member of the Women in Science House as a sophomore and junior.  She leads weekly tutoring sessions and participates in the Park Hall Elementary School science outreach program.

A graduate of Mt. Hebron High School, she was inducted into the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society in the Spring of 2007.  Grady helps to organize talks by local women in science and solely organized and ran a used soccer equipment drive that amassed over 1,000 pieces of equipment to be donated to the Eurosport Passback program.  She reached out to local and national clubs, former coaches, and tournament directors in order to have a successful drive.

Grady is both a St. Mary's and Nitze Scholar who has been a member of the Dean's List every semester.  Currently ranked in the Top 10% of her class, she was granted an internship through the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab this past summer.

On the soccer pitch, Grady has amassed nine goals and five assists for 23 points during her three-year career.  She earned a spot on the All-Capital Athletic Conference Second Team as a freshman after finishing the season third in scoring with 11 points (5g, 1a).  Grady has also been a two-year member of the CAC All-Academic Team as well as St. Mary's Athletics 3.0 Club.

She contributed a goal and an assist as the Seahawks finished the 2007 campaign with a 6-11-1 overall mark (4-3-1 CAC).
