Seven CAC Players Named To NSCAA Scholar All-Region Team

Seven Capital Athletic Conference players, led by St. Mary's senior keeper Marie Oben, were named to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-Region team.

Oben, a second-team Scholar All-Region nominee, was one of three Seahawks to earn the NSCAA recognition.  She is a psychology major and boasts a 3.90 cumulative grade point average (GPA).  Oben also led SMC to the 2008 CAC championship.

Three CAC players earned third-team Scholar All-Region honors, including SMC senior teammate Sarah Grady (3.90 biology major), Salisbury senior Kelli Salter (3.74 marketing major) and Wesley senior Gina Orrben (3.50 nursing major).

Three other CAC players were named to the Scholar All-Region honorable mention team, including St. Mary's junior Karisa Carroll (3.76 chemistry major), Salisbury junior Christina Eury (3.66 biology major) and Wesley senior Kate Chiolan (3.90 history major).
