Stevenson's Stephanie Eyler Named To Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team

Stevenson women's soccer senior Stephanie Eyler was one of 13 student-athletes named to the Academic All-District First Team in District 2 on Friday which is part of the Capital One Academic All-America® program, as selected by The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Eyler is the first Stevenson student-athlete to be honored as such since field hockey's Cat Connelly in 2008.

As a result of her first team selection, Eyler is now eligible for Academic All-America honors where, if chosen, she would become the first player in school history to be honored as such.

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selects Academic All-America® teams in 12 programs. For 2011-12, the AAA program expands from two teams (a University Division team and a College Division Team) to four divisional teams, with student-athletes
being honored separately in Division I, Division II and Division III. A fourth team - the College Division team - is comprised of NAIA, Canadian and two-year student-athletes.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

Eyler leads the team in scoring this season with 10 goals and 23 points. A three-time All-CAC First Team selection, she has played in a school record 82 games and ranks second in school history with 60 goals and 134 points. She has scored a school record 15 game-winning goals.

The 2009 CAC Player of the Year and 2008 CAC Rookie of the Year, Eyler was selected to the NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Third Team in 2010 and named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Second Team in 2009.

Eyler boasts a 3.97 grade point average in business administration.
