Frostburg State Claims CAC Women's Soccer Crown On PKs After Scoreless Draw at Salisbury

Second-seeded Frostburg State played top-seeded and defending CAC Champion Salisbury to a scoreless draw for 110 minutes, then edged the Sea Gulls by a 4-3 margin in penalty kicks to capture the 2012 women's soccer championship.

It is FSU's first women's soccer title in the school's three years as members of the CAC, and marks the sixth-straight year that a different team has won the crown.

The Bobcats (14-3-2) clinched an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Championship Tournament.  It will be FSU's sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in the 19-year history of the program.  Pairings for the national championship will be announced Monday.
