Three Student-Athletes From CAC Named To 2012 Capital One Women's Soccer Academic All-America Team

Three CAC student-athletes - Frostburg State's Adria Graham, Stephanie Fazenbaker and York's Melanie Glessner - were named to the 2012 Capital One NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Academic All-America team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Graham, the two-time CAC Player of the Year, was selected as a first-team Academic All-American while Glessner and Fazenbaker were third-team honorees.

Graham is a junior athletic training major with a 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) during her collegiate career.  Fazenbaker, who combines with Graham to form a potent scoring attack for the Bobcats, is a sophomore biology major with a 4.00 GPA.

Glessner, a first-year starter who anchored a Spartan defense that ranked second nationally in goals against average, is a sophomore sociology major with a 3.92 GPA.

The three players combine to give the CAC 65 Academic All-American's in the 21-year history of the conference.

Since joining the CAC in July 2010, five FSU players have earned Academic All-America recognition while Glessner is the seventh Academic All-American for York, a charter member of the CAC.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 16,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
