Frostburg State Claims Second CAC Women's Soccer Title in Last Three Years With 2-0 Victory Over Mary Washington

Frostburg State captured its second CAC Women's Soccer Championship in the last three years with a 2-0 triumph over Mary Washington on Saturday in Frostburg, Md. With the win, the Bobcats earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. 

After a scoreless first half, the fourth-seeded Bobcats (13-4-5) scored a pair of second-half goals to keep sixth-seeded Mary Washington off-balance in a two-goal victory. 

In the 61st minute, FSU junior Erin Worthman slipped a low shot past Eagle keeper Charlotte Owens on a feed from junior Brooke Longo. Freshman Melanie Bell connected on a header in the 85th minute to add an insurance goal for the Bobcats, assisted by Kourtney McLain
