Frostburg State To Face SUNY Geneseo in NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament First Round; Christopher Newport Nabs At-Large Bid, Will Meet Stevenson

CAC Champion Frostburg State and regular season champion Christopher Newport both learned their NCAA Tournament draws on Monday afternoon. FSU earned the CAC's automatic bid after defeating Mary Washington 2-0 in last Saturday's championship game, while CNU secured an at-large berth. 

Frostburg State heads to Baltimore, Md. for a four-team regional hosted by Johns Hopkins. The Bobcats (13-4-5) will face off against SUNY Geneseo (16-2-2), while host Johns Hopkins (16-3-1) will take on Farmingdale State (14-5-3) in the other first round matchup. 

Christopher Newport (12-3-4) will meet Stevenson (10-5-5) in Lynchburg, Va., with host Lynchburg (22-0) matchup up against Salem (18-4) in the other contest in that regional. 

Both regionals are set for Nov. 15-16. Game times have yet to be announced. 

Sixteen four-team sites will conduct first- and second-round play on the first weekend of the championship, Nov. 14-15 or 15-16. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites Nov. 21-22 or 22-23.

All games, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the semifinals Dec. 5-6, at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.
