Salisbury and St. Mary's Post Shutout Home Wins, Move on to CAC Women's Soccer Semifinals
Salisbury and St. Mary's each defending their home fields with 3-0 victories in the first round of the CAC Women's Soccer Tournament on Saturday to advance to Wednesday's semifinal round.
Third-seeded Salisbury blanked sixth-seeded Penn State Harrisburg 3-0 behind goals from Ruthie Lucas, Brooke Rossiter and Juliana Looney. The Sea Gulls will travel to second-seeded Frostburg State for Wednesday's semifinal tilt, set for a 6 p.m. start at Bobcat Stadium.
Fourth-seeded St. Mary's downed fifth-seeded Mary Washington 3-0, led by one goal and one assist from Kat Golladay and goals from Emmey German and Haley Bullis. The Seahawks will head to top-seeded Christopher Newport for Wednesday's semifinals. The CNU vs. St. Mary's matchup will begin at 7:30 p.m. as the back-end of a doubleheader, following a men's semifinal matchup between CNU and Salisbury.
