Mary Washington Captures 2019 CAC Women's Soccer Championship in Dominant Fashion

The third-seeded Mary Washington Eagles captured the 2019 CAC Women's Soccer Tournament Championship after a dominant 4-0 victory over fourth-seeded York. With the win, UMW earned its 14th league title and first since 2009.

Mary Washington came out firing on all cylinders and scored twice in the first 6:19 of the contest to take an early 2-0 lead. Mikaela O'Fallon found the back of the net first for the Eagles at the 3:53 mark on an assist from Abby Zimmerman. UMW extended the lead to two goals when Brielle Mitchell beat the keeper on a dish from O'Fallon.

In the second half, UMW kept the scoring going this time producing a pair of goals in a 36-second span. O'Fallon connected on a goal from Brooke Bauman at the 57:16 mark before Macey Wissell hit the scoresheet on Zimmerman's second assist of the contest. 

With the win, the Eagles claim the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament field, which will be announced Monday, Nov. 11th.
