NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket

Both CAC champion Mary Washington along with Christopher Newport earned NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament first round shutout victories on Saturday (Nov. 16). CNU now advances to face 12th-ranked host Johns Hopkins at 7:00 pm on Sunday night in the second round, while UMW battles #2 William Smith on the road.

CNU senior Carson Pokorny made history with the game-wining assist and rookie Molly Beegle header was enough for the seventh-ranked Christopher Newport women's soccer team to advance into the NCAA Division III Championship second round after a 2-0 win over Worcester State (11-8-2) Saturday night. Pokorny became the program's all-time leader in assists with her 32nd career helper on a beautiful corner kick dime to Beegle for the rookies' first career game-winning goal. 

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team scored  apair of goals in the opening 13 minutes of play en route to a 3-0 victory over SUNY Geneseo on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Geneva, N.Y. The Eagles, 12-10 on the season, advance to Sunday's second round against host William Smith College.

Senior Brielle Mitchell opened the scoring at 7:21 on an assist from freshman Mikaela O'Fallon to give the Eagles early momentum. At 12:48, Mitchell set up sophomore Abby Zimmerman for the Eagles' second score of the day, and the Eagles carried that momentum through halftime, with a 2-0 advantage.
